Varsity Swimming · Lady Raiders Win, Raiders Grab 3rd for an an Overall 1st Place Finish

The Raiders traveled to Tallulah Falls on Saturday to compete in an eight team invitational. The Lady Raiders dominated, winning by over 100 points, while the boys settled for 3rd. The Raiders won the meet overall with the combined score of 738 points over Calhoun High School (692 points). The Raiders were led by Logan Cornelison who scored 40 points and qualified for the state championship in the 500 free (3rd fastest time in school history)  & 100 free, adding to his list which includes the 50 free, 200 free, and 100 butterfly. The Lady Raiders were led by Abigail Hutcheson who also scored 40 points and qualified for the state championship in the 100 free, adding to her list which includes the 50 free & 100 back. The Lady Raiders won 6 of the 12 events while the Raiders won 3 of 12. Below is a list of the 1st place finishes and new state qualifiers:

Boys 400 Free Relay: Logan Cornelison (new state cut 100 free) , Trey Jackson, William Allen, Caden Goudy 

Girls 400 Free Relay: Julia Wickman, Jenna Vincent, Emilia Reber, Ansley Grimes 

The next meet for the Raiders is Saturday (11/21) in a tri-meet vs. Forsyth Central & South Forsyth at the Cumming Aquatic Center. Diving starts at 5:00 pm with swimming to follow.
