The Lady Raiders continued their fantastic season on Saturday at the Lambert Holiday Invite with a 2nd place finish behind 6A Johns Creek. The girls took 1st place in both the 200 medley & 200 free relays, including a season best time in the 200 free relay. Freshman Anna Cesario had a great meet with top 5 finishes in both the 200 free & 100 butterfly and earned her 1st state cut in the 200 free. Senior Hailey Galbraith won the 50 free, lowering her state time, and leadoff both the 200 & 400 free relays. Her leadoff time in the 400 free relay qualified her for state in the 100 freestyle. Sophomore Gracie Runion placed in the top 5 in both the 50 free & 100 breaststroke narrowly missing the state cuts in both events. The meet concluded with diving and sophomore Anneliese Martin finished off a strong meet for the Lady Raiders with a 6th place finish.
The Raiders finished in 4th with great performances from seniors Owen Brubaker & Logan Cornelison. Owen won the 200 free with a new personal best & state qualifying time and finished 3rd in the 100 free, which was also a new personal best & state qualifying time. Logan took home 2 wins in both the 50 & 100 freestyles. Senior Will Riley also had a good meet with 2 top 10 finishes in the 100 freestyle & 100 breaststroke. The 3 seniors all competed on the 200 medley & 200 free relays that finished inside the top 3.
The next meet for the swim & dive team is the West Forsyth Winter Classic this Saturday (1/9) at the CAC. Meet starts at 12:00 pm.
