Saturday’s game against Buford was a heartbreaker for North Forsyth Raiders Freshman, as they lost the lead late in a 16-13 defeat. Buford was down 12-11 in the top of the sixth inning when Parks Eli doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
The Raiders collected 13 hits and Buford had 17 in the high-scoring affair.
Buford took an early lead in the second inning. Parker Walsh drew a walk, scoring one run.
North put up five runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by North Forsyth Raiders Freshman was led by JT Pruitt, Champ Bryant, Trystan Davis, and Josh Zirlott, all driving in runs in the frame.
Buford scored six runs in the second inning. London Nease, Bradley Ihm, Walsh, and Stan Zagradnik all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Parker Fulginiti led things off on the mound for Buford. He went one and one-third innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits and walking one.
Pruitt was on the mound for North Forsyth. He lasted two innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out two. Michail Harris and Ryley Moore entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
The Raiders racked up 13 hits on the day. Pruitt, Hayden Brown, Bryant, and Davis each collected multiple hits for North Forsyth Raiders Freshman. Davis, Bryant, Brown, and Pruitt all had two hits to lead North Forsyth.
The Raiders play again on Tuesday at Milton in a rematch from earlier this season in which Milton beat North 6-2.
