The Varsity swim team took a trip up to Knoxville, Tennessee this weekend to compete in the Ray Bussard Invitational at the University of Tennessee. The Raiders performed well as they grabbed several more state cuts and added more to the state roster via relays.
Maryann Story and Hunter Galbraith led the way with new individual state cuts, each earning two. Story qualified in the 200 & 500 free while Galbraith qualified in the 50 & 100 free. Alex Gonzalez added a 3rd state cut for the season when he qualified in the 200 free and he also lowered his state time in the 100 back. Logan Cornelison also added a 3rd state cut when he qualified in the individual 50 free, but he lowered that time even more as the lead off leg of the 200 free relay. Will Riley was also able to lower his state entry time in the 100 breaststroke.
The Raiders also lowered their state entry times in 4 relays including: the girls 200 medley & 400 free relays and the boys 200 medley & 200 free relays. Sarah Beth O’Saben & Hannah Moulder also found their way onto the state roster when they qualified as members of the 400 and 200 free relay teams.
The Raiders will compete again on January 5th in the Lambert Holiday Invite at the Cumming Aquatic Center.
